St Columba’s Scottish Episcopal Church, Largs
Charity no: SC004796 CCLI: 278491
Pentecost 25 6 November 2016
Readings: Job 19:23-27a; Luke 20:27-38
Collect: O God our refuge and strength, the very author of devotion: hear the prayers of your Church; and grant that what we seek in faith we may in fact obtain; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end.
Post Communion: Living God, in the eucharist you fill us with new hope. May the power of your love, which we have known in word and sacrament, continue your saving work among us, and bring us to the joy you promise. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
Matins – First Collect: O Lord, we beseech thee, absolve thy people from their offences; that through thy bountiful goodness we may all be delivered from the bands of those sins, which by our frailty we have committed: Grant this, O heavenly Father, for Jesus Christ’s sake, our blessed Lord and Saviour.

Psalm 17. Exaudi, Domine.
1 HEAR the right O LORD, consider / my com/plaint, * and hearken unto my prayer that goeth not / out of /feign-ed / lips.
2 Let my sentence come forth / from thy / presence; * and let thine eyes look up/on the / thing that is / equal.
3 Thou hast proved and visited mine heart in the night-season, thou hast tried me, and shalt find no / wickedness / in me * for I am utterly purposed that my / mouth shall / not of/fend.
4 Because of men’s works, that are done against the / words of thy / lips * I have kept me from the / ways of / the de/stroyer.
5 O hold thou up my / goings / in thy / paths * that my / footsteps / slip not.
6 I have called upon thee O God for / thou shalt / hear me: * incline thine ear to me and / hearken / unto my / words.
7 Show thy marvellous loving-kindness, thou that art the Saviour of them which put their / trust in / thee * from such as re/sist thy / right / hand.
8 Keep me as the / apple of an / eye * hide me under the / shadow / of thy / wings.
