Easter 5 14 May 2017
Readings: Acts 7:55-60; John 14:1-14
Collect: O God, who alone can bring harmony to the minds of your faithful people: give us grace to love the things you command, and to desire the things you promise; that, amid the uncertain changes of this world, our hearts may be firmly fixed where true joys are to be found; through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end.
Post Communion: Eternal God, whose Son Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life: grant us to walk in his way, to rejoice in his truth, and to share his risen life; who is alive and reigns, now and for ever.
Matins Collect: O almighty God, who alone canst order the unruly wills and affections of sinful men: Grant unto thy people, that they may love the thing which thou commandest, and desire that which thou dost promise; that so, among the sundry and manifold changes of the world, our hearts may surely there be fixed, where true joys are to be found; through Jesus Christ our Lord. …………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Psalm 31:1-5, 15-16 In te, Domine, speravi.
1 In thee O Lord have I / put my / trust: let me never be put to confusion, de/liver me / in thy / righteousness.
2 Bow down thine / ear to / me: make / haste to de/liver / me.
3 And be thou my strong rock and / house of de/fence: that / thou / mayest / save me.
4 For thou art my strong rock / and my / castle: be thou also my guide, and lead me / for thy / Name’s / sake.
5 Draw me out of the net that they have laid / privily / for me: for / thou / art my / strength.
15 For I have heard the blasphemy / of the / multitude: and fear is on every side, while they conspire together against me, and take their counsel to / take a/way my / life.
16 But my hope hath been in / thee O / Lord: I have said / Thou art / my / God.
